Egypt's Great Pyramid

                             of Knowledge

A new book by James J. Wood, Sr.

For many years I have studied the Great Pyramid of Egypt by reading almost everything I could find on the subject. There are many good books devoted to the subject and many other books that are not very imaginative. My hobby was a great source of entertainment for me in the evenings and on weekends giving me a diversion from my normally demanding duties as a trial lawyer specializing in Administrative Law (Worker's Compensation).

The time was spent first for my wife and children, secondly for my clients and their litigation demands and lastly, when I could do it, on the mysteries of the Great Pyramid. Along the way I also came up with the idea that the Ancient Egyptians may have intended to date some of their wall carvings and paintings, especially battle scenes, by equating the location of chariot wheels to the positions of the planets at the time the scene took place. I originally wrote a crude BASIC language program that ran the planets backwards from the time I did it to dates as far back as 2,000 B.C. My first effort at using the program appeared to confirm the date for a scene dated by Egyptologists so I decided that someday I would try to apply the effort to some other battle scenes. I did that in this book and I think it works. You may take notice that the Ancient Egyptians did not date much of what they did. There are large gaps in the history that have required Egyptologists to recreate the dates of events the hard way base on the writings of past authors and stuff ranging from artifacts to extinct histories, and from all kinds of data collected from around the ancient world. This decipherment that I offer could prove to be a major help in piecing Egypt's history together with some confidence. If I am correct it will be the first break in such interpretation in about 200 years.

The Great Pyramid is a mysterious object and many things about its makeup deserve all the attention that we can afford to give it. The so-called Queen's Chamber is frequently offered by some experts as a failure of the builders to decide where to put the final resting place for the Mummy of Khufu/Cheops; alleged to be the sponsor of the Great Pyramid. This story line wants us to believe that the builders first started the "Pit Room" and changed their mind, and then made the Queens Chamber and again made a change deciding to place the Mummy in the King's Chamber. How does one deal with such misguided speculation? They concede that the builders had the foresight to design and construct the edifice to be aligned exactly with the cardinal points of the Earth but they then contend that the same people could not decide where to put the Pharaoh's remains. I contend that there were no errors at all in the construction of the Great Pyramid and that every nook and cranie, every vent and every room is exactly where it was designed to be.

I started this book in 2005. In early 2006 I submitted same to have it published. The first effort to published was getting delayed and they were havin trouble with my CD's and such so I sent a PDF file to 48HrBooks.com and I had a book in about a week while the other publisher was still fooling around. I intended the first item from 48 hr. books to be a preliminary draft copy just for my use and never intended it to be offered for sale. I did this to protect my ideas and to have copies for friends that expressed an interest. The draft issue is essentially the same as the final version with some pictures that were changed and a little better editing. It is now available for sale many places on the Net and at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com and Borders. It is to be available  in stores and through www.AuthorHouse.Com .
